CLUB NOTES MONDAY 3RD FEB 2014   07/02/2014


There was a good attendance at the Club’s A.G.M. which was held on the 26th of January 2014. The Executive Committee was re-elected for the coming year with a few positional changes. Claire Joyce is now the treasurer with Paul Greaney taking over the PRO job. Darren Fahy is now assistant secretary taken over from Padraic Kelly. Chairperson Marie Fahy thanked the main sponsor for the club in 2013 Mike & Ann Treacy of Pam oil, she also thanked all the businesses and people who gave sponsorship to the club during 2013 and also the people of the parish who have given their time so freely for the development of our dressing rooms. Marie spoke about Padraic Joyce’s decision to retire from club football and thanked him for all memories and moments of joy he brought to the club. His 100% commitment to the club will always be remembered with pride in Killererin. The club were extremely proud of all his achievements and she wished him and his family many good years of health and happiness..

Fundraiser in 2013 for club development was a tremendous success and we thanked everybody who gave us such support.Members were informed that approximately another €40,000 would have to be raised throughout the coming year and members will be approached for their help. It is hoped to have development completed by mid summer. Club membership for 2014 is unchanged. Past members, players and parents of underage teams were encouraged to join the club and also asked to play the club lotto.

Managers elected for the coming year were Senior, Junior B & U21 manager Billy Joyce, Minor manager Jimmy Murphy, U16 manager Daniel Treacy. U14 & U12 manager Ger Cooke. U10 manager John Wilson. Manager of under 6’s & under 8’s to be finalized in coming weeks. Anyone new to the parish of killererin and wishing to play with the club or help out in any way contact the secretary Gerard Fahy on 086-8048241.

Lotto numbers were 2,3,14,25 No Winners. Seller’s prize: Liam Donohue. Next week’s Jackpot is €2200 and draw takes place in the Derreen Inn at 9pm. Thanks to all who continue to support our lotto. Club Membership is now due and must be paid before March 28th  and all players, managers, mentors are reminded that your membership includes your Insurance cover. No player will be permitted to play any matches without being fully paid up. This applies from underage to adult. This is essential for compliance with the players injury scheme and croke park regulations. Players €50.00, Non Players €40.00, Students, OAP’s €20.00,Underage €10.00 or it can also be paid on line at www.killereringaa.com. Membership must be paid to the following Committee members only (Treasurer) Claire 087-9923393, (Assist Treasurer) Martin 087-6677681 and (registrar) Darren 087-9635060. We encourage all present members to introduce new members to the club for 2014 and we would also like to see ex members and players, Underage parents, Parishioneers join and be part of our club for 2014.This is important as we need more people from the parish involved in our Club for 2014.Membership can be paid on Friday night next from 7.45pm to 8.30pm at the pitch.it can also be paid on www.killereringaa.com

Our U21’s play their first championship match this Saturday at 2pm in Barnaderg against Caherlistrane .please show your support.!!!

Decluttering for the Spring why not donate your old belongings to your club. Bags can be dropped to the pitch between 10am and 2pm every Saturday till end of march. There will be one dressing room allocated to this. All types of used clothing new/old in any condition. Men's, Ladies, Children's, babies, handbags, belts, shoes etc. Curtains, pillow cases and bed Linen must be in a separate bag please. ( No Duvets, Pillows, soft toys ).Don't bin it let your club cash in.       

Our club night out for 2013 will take place on Saturday 1st March at 9pm in Harpy’s Bar . All  welcome.. Music and food on the night. Club presentations for 2013 will also be presented on the night including the Fr. Oliver Hughes Memorial Hall of Fame award,clubperson of the year and player of the year.

Well done to Tommie Joyce and Adrian Nolan who were part of the NUIG team that beat Tralee It in the Sigerson Cup last week and best of luck to them as they play DCU this week.  

The club would like to sympathise with Tracey Joyce and Margaret & Adrain McElvaney on the death of Margaret's Mother Bridget last week. may she rest in peace.
