The McStay Cup final took place last Sunday between Brierfield and Barnaderg schools with Barnaderg being the victory team. This competition brought back a lot of interest and enjoyment between the schools again and gave the underage a sence of winning, losing, encouragement and loads of fun and enjoyment. Thanks to the underage committee for organising this event. The presentations took place after in the community centre where they enjoyed refreshments and were all presented with their medals and Plaques and Sean Donohoe (hillsbrook) was presented with the McStay Cup by Fr. Tod Nolan (chairman of underage Committee). The club would also like to thank Paddy and Packie Rooney . Rooney Construction for their continuous sponsorship each year towards this event. It is very much appreciated. Thanks also to Gerry Daly and Padraic Kelly for referering these games .
Our seniors also had a good win over St James in the Championship on Sunday evening last on a scoreline of 3-12 to St James 2- 14. Well done to all involved. They now meet killannin in the next round.
Juniors play Clonberne in Barnaderg in the league on Sat evening next at 7pm. Please show your support.!!
The club would like to sympathise with Micky Ryder and Family on the recent death of his Sister Mary Mcloughlin in Manchester.May she rest in peace.
